Background On Producer
Ca’Viola runs his own winery on a 33-acre estate, but also does consulting work for many other wineries in the Piedmont region. He is considered one of the most important enologists in Italy and and has won awards such as “Enologist of the Year” in 2002. He started down this path by attending the Ecological School in Alba, and after rented land to practice winemaking and learn more about viticulture – overtime he honed these skills and bottled his first Dolcetto with the Ca’Viola name in 1991. He now produces 8 different wines under the Ca’Viola label which include wines like Barbera, Nebbellio, Barolo, and Dolcetto. This impressive vineyard holds some vines that date back 60 years, varying soil compositions, and a production style that is as natural as possible – not including any chemicals. His life-long dedication to producing quality wines shines through in his final products and passion for his business.
